I’m Nick Pilon, and this is my personal weblog. I finished my Masters’ Degree in Computer Science in December 2007 and decided that twenty years of schooling had been quite enough, thank you very much. After spending a couple of months thinking about what I was going to do next - and badgering them constantly - I was hired by O’Reilly Media to do software stuff. Now that I’m outside of the in-retrospect-stifling confines of academia, I’m hoping to have all kinds of interesting thoughts to share here. I’m interested in literally everything, so the topics here are likely to be diverse and varied.

If you’re curious about what I’ve done, see some of the other pages linked in the blog’s navbar.

If you really want the distilled HR version of me and my accomplishments, you can download my Resumé, or an ultra-condensed Short Format Resumé.

If you’re looking for Runes There, you’re in the right place. This used to be Runes There, but I got sick of managing everything by hand. All the old content (except for the horrifically out of date Links page) is still here - just follow the navigation links along the top. Many of the URLs are even similar! But it now has a shiny new and very “Web 1.75″-ish look to it, a blog, and more effective content management.
